Youth of the Year Announced Today in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A very fortunate and deserving young person in our community will be honored today as "Youth of the Year."

Boys and Girls Clubs of Springfield makes the choice among a list of kids who show superior leadership skills, academic achievement, outstanding service to the club and the ability to overcome obstacles.

The local winner gets a $12,000 college scholarship.

Today's winner will be announced at noon at the University Plaza Hotel.
