Marine Veterans planed a flash mob at the sporting store to kick off this seasons Toys for Tots drive.
Marine Corp Band members marched from the main fish tank display to the area below Hemingway's Restaurant to meet up with over one hundred members of the Marine Corp Reserves, the Marine League and Women's Auxiliary.
There they had a unique presentation where kids presented toys to be donated.
Since the need for toys in our area is greater this year they wanted to find a new way to gain attention for the cause.
Retired USMC Ed Fox said he came up with the flash mob idea because he wanted to draw attention to Toys for Tots. Fox said "Brainstorming I guess, I've seen flash band mobs in other places. It was effective so why not Springfield , why not Bass Pro? To see the glow and smile on a kids face to get a new toy is worth all this work."
The Marine Reserves will be collecting unwrapped, new toys through December 8th.
