Flames shoot out of a building at the old Springfield Regional Stockyards Tuesday night. Around , some neighbors noticed the flames and called 911.
When fire crews arrived, flames had fully engulfed one section of the building. No one was inside. Crews called for back-up and eventually there were ten Springfield Fire units on scene.
Officials say the flames were so intense, at first; they couldn't enter the structure and had to fight the fire with water from the air.
“The initial structure that was originally on fire was probably, by estimates, about a 40x80 structure with two stories. That's a total loss. I mean all of that's burned.” says David Hall, Springfield Fire Department.
