Flames shoot out of a building at the old Springfield Regional Stockyards Tuesday night.  Around , some neighbors noticed the flames and called 911.

When fire crews arrived, flames had fully engulfed one section of the building. No one was inside.  Crews called for back-up and eventually there were ten Springfield Fire units on scene.

“The initial structure that was originally on fire was probably, by estimates, about a 40x80 structure with two stories.  That's a total loss.  I mean all of that's burned.” says David Hall, Springfield Fire Department.

The building is in the process of being demolished and there were materials inside including lumber.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.  One firefighter was treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation.
