A Springfield grocery store employee goes to the hospital after trying to stop a group of shoplifters.
It happened about 8:45 Wednesday night, at the Price Cutter at Kansas Expressway and Grand.
Officers say four or five teenage girls came into the store and starting picking up candy and snacks.
They then left the store without paying.
That's when the store employee tried to stop them by stepping in front of their car. The driver of the car hit him and fled.
Officers say the man went to the hospital with a non-life-threatening leg injury.
Police are still looking for the suspects.
