SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A Springfield teen charged in connection with a fatal shooting last December is moving forward to trial.

The shooting happened on S. National Avenue the night of December 12, 2012. Trent O. Brewer, 23, was found shot near the Bradford Park Apartments. He later died a local hospital with two gunshot wounds.

Online records indicate Marshall waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday, and agreed to go forward with the murder trial. His next court appearance is set for March 22, 2013.

Hall also appeared in Greene County Court Tuesday; he has been bound over for arraignment on March 15, 2013.

According to court documents (below), two vehicles fled from the scene. A witness told police he picked up Brewer at the nearby apartments and Brewer told him to park at the Vision Center because he needed to "meet some people."

That's when three people exited a red jeep -- including Marshall and Hall -- and Brewer was shot multiple times. Another witness later told police it was planned as drug deal, but was likely a setup.

PC statements allege Hall planned to steal marijuana from Brewer. Marshall told police it appeared Brewer reached for something in his pants as the bag was exchanged. That's when Hall allegedly pulled a gun and fired at Brewer as Brewer ran from the scene.

Police say Hall denied pulling the trigger, saying it was Marshall who actually did the firing, despite a conflict in witness reports.

Hall and Marshall are held in Greene County Jail.
