KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has added two men from Springfield to it's list of most wanted fugitives in the region.
According to a news release Friday from the Department of Justice, Larry A. Chamberlin, 56, and Paul Leslie McElwain, 59, are both wanted for being felons in possession of firearms - a violation of federal law.
The ATF says both men were indicted in separate cases, and both didn't show up for court hearings. The U.S. Marshals and ATF are looking for both men, who agents say should be considered armed and dangerous.
Chamberlin was indicted for being an unlawful drug dealer in possession of a firearm, manufacturing and cultivating marijuana and being an armed career criminal.
McElwain was indicted for being a felon/fugitive in possession of a firearm, making false statements to a licensed gun dealer and unlawfully using someone else's Social Security number and birth date.
