SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Missouri State will be looking for a second straight victory and a season series sweeep of Southern Illinios Saturday night in Carbondale.

The Bears are trying to win their way out of the play in game for the Valley tournament.

And Missouri State can go a long way toward achieving that goal with a win over the Salukis.

The Bears and Barry Hinson's dogs met in the first conference game of the season way back on December 30th.

Missouri State won by 11.

Both that was a long time ago and both teams have changed.

"Both of our teams are different actually," said Missouri State guard Anthony Downing. "They're playing their best ball right now. I think we're starting to get there. They're coming off Wichita State in and Indiana State win. They're at an all time high right now. We just have to be focused going in, take care of the ball and give us a chance to win..."

"We're in position," said Missouri State coach Paul Lusk. "I don't think you can concern yourself with what other people are doing. You have to take care of one game at a time. If we do that we can put ourselves in a pretty nice position."
