Bill Filed to Ban Assault Weapons in Missouri

SPRINGFIELD, MO. -- A state representative from St. Louis has filed a bill in the Missouri legislatures, to outlaw assault weapons in the state.
CBS affiliate KRCG reports Rory Ellinger (D-87th), is seeking to make it a class C felony to manufacture, import, possess, purchase, sell or transfer any assault weapon or large capacity magazine.
The bill has not been scheduled yet for a hearing.

Republican Caleb Rowden, representative of the 44th District, tweeted the following message on Monday afternoon: "To the MANY asking about HB 545, rest assured it has no chance of passing. The 2nd Amendment rights of Missourians will be protected!"

This idiot needs to be voted out. Gun bans DONT WORK. Just look at Chicago. Please people, Send mail to your elected officials. How many gun owners will be affected? I hunt with a .308 caliber AR style rifle, which will be made illegal by this ban, along with several other guns, including my ruger 10/22's. NO grandfather clause to keep existing ones. WE need to do everything we can to keep this from passing.

Would love a good 6.5 grendel version for the feral hogs on my farm - the AK just doesn't have the accuracy beyond 150 yards.
Oh yeah and so sorry for your political choices... maybe try a Republican or Tea party next time out. I'm just saying.
