FULTON COUNTY, Ark. -- A Salem, Arkansas teenager is killed in an early morning crash Tuesday in Fulton County.

Arkansas State Police say Angel D. Jones, 17, of Salem, died in the accident on U.S. Highway 62 about 3 miles west of Salem.

Emergency responders say Jones was going west around 7:45 a.m. when she lost control going around a curve on wet pavement. That's when she crossed the inside westbound lane and spun into the eastbound lane where she struck a guardrail.

Jones' vehicle then hit an eastbound vehicle being driven by James F. Winget Sr., 67, of Mountain Home, Arkansas. Winget's vehicle then crossed both lanes and traveled off the north side of U.S. 62.

Jones was taken to Fulton County Hospital in Salem where she was pronounced dead. Winget is being treated at the same hospital for his injuries.

The Fulton County Sheriff's Department, Salem Police Department, Salem Fire Department, and Viola Fire Department assisted in the crash.
