JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Some Missouri activists want to hear where the candidates stand on environmental issues in the first big 2012 presidential debate Wednesday night.

The Missouri Coalition for the Environment's Ed Smith says catch phrases won't be enough.

"All of the above and drill baby drill are not good energy policies," says Smith.

Smith also says climate change real and he wants the Presidential candidates to talk about it during tonight's debate. He points to a study by the Union of Concerned Scientists.

"[The study] went back for the last 60 years and looked at weather data, temperature data from 3 a.m. and 3 p.m. every single day for the last 60 years and found that we are actually indeed getting warmer here in the Midwest."

Mitt Romney and President Obama's debate starts at 8 p.m. CT Wednesday.
