SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The Missouri State football team will hit the road this weekend for the first of two road games over the next two weeks.

First up a trip to South Dakota State.

The Jackrabbits are 3-1 and broke into the FCS Top 25.

South Dakota State is ranked 25, and one of five Valley football schools in the national poll.

Missouri State is still looking for its first win of the season.

And trying to find its offense, the Bears managed only two field goals against Southern Illinois.

But coach Terry Allen says his bears are resilient.

"They're college kids and they're out here playing football," said Allen. "That's what's great for them and it's exciting. We're staying with what we do. We're not going to change that. We just have to get better at what we do. What was baffling, obviously the turnovers were there, but the penalties.."

SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Basketball was the theme Tuesday night at the 26th annual Springfield Area Sports Hall of Fame.

A couple of local basketball coaches joined three other inductees as the class of 2012 was honored downtown.

19-year Evangel womens basketball coach Leon Neal along with veteran Bolivar and Parkview coach Bob Brown headlined the five person class.

Proceeds from the banquet and reception help local youth sports organizations purchase sports equipment.

In addition to Neal and Brown, the Class of 2012 includes the late Bruce Harger who helped Drury move to the NCAA ranks.

The late Jane Meyer help run KTXR radio and helped the Lady Bears program grow.

And the late Dr. John Ferguson, a scratch amateur golfer.

"I couldn't say more about how I'm appreciated. And how much I enjoy being part of this group," said Bob Brown.

"I'm a basketball coach. One thing I love to do is coach," said Evangel coach Leon Neal. "And as a player. I still play a little bit, not quiet as fast as I used to be. But I love the game."

-----------------------------

And in Major Leagues Baseball last night, Missouri teams split - with St. Louis beating Houston, 4-0.  The Royals lose to Detroit, 2-0.
