Lumber inside Bolivar Cabinet Business Fuels Daylong Fire

POLK COUNTY, Mo. -- A Bolivar business is wiped out by a fast-moving fire.

It happened shortly around 8 a.m. Thursday at Classic Cabinets of Bolivar (4435 South 157th Road) along Highway 32. That's about three miles outside city limits.

Seven fire departments responded to knock down the flames. Investigators say the fire took off quickly because there was so much lumber in the building.

By early afternoon, the blaze had re-kindled, and continued to smolder ply wood and laminate board through the evening.

Officials say the building is a total loss. No other buildings were damaged, nor was anyone injured.

There's no word on what caused the fire. The fire marshal was on the scene earlier in the day.
