Medication Take-Back Events Planned in Springfield Sept. 29

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- As part of a nationwide campaign by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Community Partnership of the Ozarks is hosting six medication take-back events on Saturday, September 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Unused or expired medications are a public safety issue leading to accidental poisoning, overdose and abuse. Medication take-back events provide a means for safe disposal of prescription and over-the-counter medications.
The collaboration with the Springfield Police Department, City of Springfield, Watershed Committee of the Ozarks, Safe Kids Springfield and the businesses/organization listed below:

Discount Drug Mart - 2625 N. Kansas Expressway.
Evangel
University - North parking lot (enter from Glenstone Avenue)
Family
Pharmacy - 4728 S. Campbell, Suite 132
George's
Pharmacy - 3650 E. Sunshine Street
Medicine
Store - 1302 E. Sunshine Street
Walgreens
- 2681 W. Republic Road
There is no cost to the public for disposing of the medications at these events. Pharmacists and law enforcement personnel will be available at each site to answer medication disposal related questions.
Intravenous solutions, injectables, and syringes will not be accepted.
