CRANE, Mo. --  The Stone County Sheriff needs your help finding an assault suspect who's considered armed and dangerous.

Friday morning, deputies responded to an assault call at Swinging Bridge and Grisham Ford Roads.

They arrived to find a 45-year-old victim from Crane, Missouri with several knife wounds.

The victim said Marcus Brent Reel, 40, tried to shoot him but the gun didn't discharge. That's when Reel allegedly switched to using a knife and tried to slit the man's throat before punching him.

Stone County Sheriff Richard Hill says the victim's finger had nearly been cut off in the struggle. He says the victim stated that he and the suspect have had an ongoing long term feud, and believed he was assaulted due to their history.

Reel had left the scene prior to the arrival of emergency personnel; several deputies conducted a search throughout the area, but they were unable to locate him. Reel has not yet been formally charged.

Sheriff Hill is asking if anyone sees Reel to call 911 immediately, and to not attempt to make contact because Reel is considered armed and dangerous.
