Unveiling of New Bike Trail Pavilion Today

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Ozark Greenways and the Midwest Off-Road Cyclists will be hosting a ribbon cutting for the new Sac River mountain bike trail pavilion this morning.
It will take place at 11:00 at the Sac River bike trail just west of Highway 13 about two miles north of Springfield.
What makes this pavilion so unique it that it was built by volunteers.
They salvaged materials from an old barn that was on the trail property.
They constructed the pavilion using things like wood, steel well casing and native rocks all from the site.
There have been a number of other trail improvements, such as redesigned trails, color-marked trails based on difficulty and a bike wash station is currently in the works.
