SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Missouri State Bears will kick off the new football season on the road at KansasState.

It's the first of two Bears games against BCS school's to open the year.

MissouriState is 1-26 against the Football Bowl Subdivision all time and is 0-2 against the Wildcats.

The Bears athletic department will pick up $375,000 dollars for the trip to Manhattan.

Terry Allen is still trying to settle on a quarterback with sophomore Kierra Harris and Mizzou transfer Ashton Glaser set to split time.

Allen does know about K-State and their quarterback Collin Klein.

"The quarterback is a heck of a player, he's a great competitor," said MissouriState coach Terry Allen. "I think he was involved in 40 touchdowns last year. I don't know how many they won in the fourth quarter, but just nothing but the utmost respect for K-State. I'm excited to see about our football team."
