SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Starting Thursday night, rain from Hurricane Issac will make its way into the Ozarks.

KOLR10 Meteorologist Chris Smith says rainfall amounts will vary from 1 to 4 inches, with more than 3 inches likely in Springfield, if the storm track stays on its current course.  Higher amounts are expected around Lake of the Ozarks, while the Joplin area may get just over 1 inch.

Although healthy rainfall is expected, and even some flooding likely in places, this rain is not expected to end the drought in Missouri, experts say, because the Ozarks region is 15 inches below normal in rainfall this year.

This storm track is still uncertain.  Updates will be posted here as conditions change.
