SPRINGFIELD, Mo -- Talk about needing a win.

Chris Wilson won the 23rd annual Price Cutter Charity Championship Sunday on the first playoff hole.

It was a thrilling end to a wild week at Highland Springs that saw a crowded leaderboard in all four rounds.

Wilson and fellow Northwestern alum Scott Harrington finished 72 holes tied at 21 under.

On the first playoff hole, Harrington hit into the water.

Wilson then two-putted for the victory and the 112-thousand-500 first place check.

Wilson needed the victory, the 27-year old had missed 11 of the last 13 cuts and had even seen a sports psychologist.

Now he's 23rd on the money list and assured of being on the Web.com tour.

"I guess above all else, knowing that I can perform at the highest level when it matters the most," said PCCC champion Chris Wilson. "Everybody can do it in practice rounds and on the range. But can you do it when it really matters. I proved it to myself and I think to other people that I can. You don't have to worry about getting into events and travel and whether you're on this tour or this tour. So I have status the next two years which is comforting to know.."
