The hot temperatures claimed the life of a three year old Saturday, who apparently locked himself in the car.
Benton County, Arkansas deputies said it happened around 5 p.m. on Saturday in the northeast part of Benton County.
Investigators said the three-year-old boy climbed into the car and couldn't get out. Deputies said the hot temperature claimed the little boy's life.
The Sheriff's office doesn't believe foul play was involved, but the body will still be sent to the Arkansas crime lab.
And a 2-year-old child died after being left in a car in a Springdale Walmart parking lot Friday.
Springdale Police say they received a call just after 4:30 Friday afternoon. When they arrived, they found the toddler unresponsive and without a pulse.
The boy was immediately taken to Northwest Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police say the boy had been taken to the Walmart by his great-grandparents but was left in the car.
They verified through the National Weather Service that the temperature outside was 102 degrees at the time they were called.
The great-grandparents thought they had been in the store for about 45 minutes, but after reviewing surveillance video, police determined the boy had been left in the car for two hours and five minutes.
The investigation into the child's death is on-going.
