BRANSON, Mo. -- Crews from across the Ozarks will likely be working through the night to put out a massive condo fire at Table Rock Lake.
It all started around 3 p.m. at The Majestic at Table Rock, just west of State Highway 265 and north of Chateau on the Lake.
The Southern Stone and Western Taney County Fire
Protection Districts were first to the scene following several 911 reports. They soon called in help from Logan-Rogersville, Springfield, Battlefield, Branson, and Ozark.
The blaze appears to have started in the middle of the four-story complex. According to its website, the complex has 160 total units in multiple buildings that were built in 2008. Everyone made it out safely.
"I found out as I drove up," resident Ray Serrano tells KOLR10 News. "We seen a puff of smoke and I told my son it kinda looks like where we live. Sure enough, it was our complex."
Pop-up storms hampered firefighters' attack on the fire as it ripped through the complex. Stone County crews say they even had to make an emergency evacuation at one point.
Water is being supplied by a tanker shuttle from the nearby lake through the evening.
A brush fire was spawned by the condo fire. Stone County crews say the Conservation Department was called into assist with a tractor.
Residual smoke is expected around Table Rock Lake over the next several hours. There's little word on the condition of those who lived in the condo, nor any information about their living arrangements.
