SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- If you won't be in Greene County or will be unable to get the polls next Tuesday, you can still cast an absentee ballot.
Greene County Clerk Richard Struckhoff says his office will be open Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for people who want to vote by absentee ballot. But you can also do that in person at the clerk's office any weekday until 5:00 p.m. Monday, August 6.
You can also request an absentee ballot by mail. Send your ballot request to Struckhoff's office, in writing, so it gets there no later than 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 1. Be sure to sign the request, explain why you are voting absentee, and state a party preference.
A number of state and local offices have primary elections in August, and there are local issues and a statewide constitutional amendment. You can read a sample ballot here.
