MARSHFIELD, Mo. -- Hundreds of homes were without power in Marshfield Wednesday afternoon.

Tom Houston, General Manager of Webster Electric Cooperative, says around noon there was a break in a three-phase circuit. The break happened in a line leaving a substation in southeast Marshfield.

Houston says at the height of the outage, about 450 customers -- mostly residential -- were impacted. He hopes to have power back up by 2 p.m.

Meanwhile several departments are battling a brush fire in the vicinity. It's not known if the fire was sparked by line break, or vice versa.

We'll post updates here as we get them.
