Gunman Sentenced for Rolla Chase Pleads Guilty to More Charges

ROLLA, Mo. -- A southwest Missouri man pleads guilty to more charges stemming from a high-speed chase and shooting involving state troopers.
Cody Willcoxson, 32, entered a guilty plea Monday in Rolla to three counts of First Degree Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer and one count of First Degree Burglary.
Earlier this year, Willcoxson received two concurrent 30-year sentences in Pulaski County for Assault and Attempted Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer.
The charges all stem from a May 2011 incident when police say Willcoxson used a fake ID to try and get into Fort Leonard Wood. After running his car through a security gate, he led police on a 120 mile-per-hour pursuit through Rolla while firing more than 90 rounds out his window.
Willcoxson
is a three-time escapee from the Delaware County Jail, where he was serving
time for burglary.
Sentencing
for the four latest charges is set for 9 a.m. Thursday,
Penalty for assaulting an officer ranges from 10-30 years or life in prison. Willcoxson could also get 5-15 years for the burglary charge.
It will be up the judge in Phelps County to determine whether the latest sentence will run consecutively or concurrently with Willcoxson's current sentence
