MSU Committee Meets Today on Search for New President

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- We may soon learn more about the search for Missouri State University's next president.
Today, the presidential search committee is meeting at the Alumni Center.
The university has been advertising the job nationwide since May.
MSU hopes to name a new president by mid-December. Former president Dr. Michael Nietzel left the university a year ago.
Interim President Dr. Clif Smart says he's applying for the position.
Today's agenda includes an update on the number of people who have applied for the position, and discussion of the applicant review system. The committee hopes to have 2 to 4 semifinalists visit the campus this fall, with a new president named around November 1.
