SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The big green and orange tent has been going up in the middle of the Missouri State University campus for 50 summers now.
Sunday, the milestone will be celebrated with a special, free 50th anniversary gala performance.
The 2:00 p.m. show will feature songs performed over the 50-year history of tent theater by current company members and some special guests. It is free and open to the public.
Missouri State officials say Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon and his wife will attend and speak just before the performance.
