WEST PLAINS, Mo. -- A teenager who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg Tuesday night, now faces accusations of filing a false police report.

Police in West Plains tell KOLR10 News the case has been referred to county Juvenile Services officials.

West Plains Police Chief Charles Brotherton said the shooting happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at 1760 State Hwy. BB. That's the same address where Jason Spurling, 14, was shot and killed February 18 by a 15-year-old friend.

The teen in the latest incident told police he went outside Tuesday night to check out a pickup truck in the driveway, when he was shot.   He was treated at an area hospital for a wound to the leg.
