Update: Marionville Police Identify Officer Who Shot and Killed Man

There was a report of a woman being held against her will in the 900 block of South Gayla at the Applelane Townhomes and Duplexes.
According to Missouri Highway Patrol Sgt. Mike Watson, Bergseth moved toward Officer Hughes, threatening him with a pair of scissors. That's when the 51-year-old officer shot and killed Bergseth.
Investigators also say there was a child in the apartment at the time of the shooting and both are fine.
Police Chief Mark Webb says Officer Hughes is on paid administrative leave and the Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation. He says this is the first shooting involving one of his officers in four years.
