SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Attorney General Chris Koster has filed a lawsuit against three telemarketing companies, including one in Branson.

Koster says the companies, all owned by Kevin Knasel, made solicitation calls to Missourians on the no-call list.

The companies listed in the lawsuit are Branson Premier Travel based in Branson, Branson Travel & Cruise in St. Louis, and Super Market Merchandising and Supply in St. Louis.

Koster says the companies called consumers to try to sell vacation packages and other products and services.

The attorney general is asking the court to stop telemarketers from calling consumers on the no-call list. He is also seeking civil penalties and the costs of investigation and prosecution.

Do-Not-Call hotline or call 866-662-2551. If you receive harassing solicitation calls, file a complaint at 1-866-buzzoff (1-866-289-9633).

Comments

This is good news. These companies seem to badger whomever they want with no fear of action being taken against them, until now!
