Blunt: EPA Regulations Kill Midwest's Ability to Generate Energy

(Washington, DC) -- U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (R-Missouri) says regulations from the Environmental Protection Agency are killing the Midwest's abilities to generate energy, and he says the blame belongs at the top.

"I think that Lisa Jackson is the worst administrator in the history of the EPA, but I actually think she's carrying out the President's views, and so he may very well have the worst energy policies in the history of the White House."

Sen. Blunt says the upcoming carbon emissions standards, coupled with a new set of so-called soot regulations, will render coal-fired generating plants obsolete and will sock consumers with much higher energy bills.

"Let's spend a year going to these agencies and saying we want you to take this year looking at all the regulations you have and seeing how many of those you can eliminate, rather than continuing to pile on regulations."

Comments

Mr. Blunt must be lobbying on behalf of Big Coal interests. He doesn't care about stupid laws being removed from the books, he's supported some that are insane. Remember, this is the same guy that wanted to imprison people who burned a flag.
