Organizers say advance tickets are available now at Price Cutter supermarkets and the Hammons Field box office. Advance prices are $7. Admission on the 4th of July is $8. Veterans and active military personnel with an ID can purchase tickets at the gate for $3. Children 5 and under are free.
Only about 20,000 tickets are available to get into Hammons Field for the fireworks display, activities and baseball game, so buying early is strongly encouraged.
This is the second year for Fireworks at the Field. The days events begin at 3 to 8 pm, at various venues outside of the stadium in the downtown area.
You can ice skate and play on inflatables from Amberg Entertainment in the Mediacom Ice Park, create art and crafts at The Creamery Arts Center, and visit the Discovery Center.
The Springfield Cardinals will host the Midland Rockhounds at 5:08 pm at Hammons Field, followed by a concert from Members Only after the game. Then the fireworks show begins at Hammons Field at 9:45 pm.
