(Terre Haute, Ind.) -- The Missouri State Bears dropped in to second place after losing two out of three last weekend to Evansville.
Then with Friday's loss to newly No. 1 Indiana State, the Sycamores were Valley champs and the Bears were fighting for a two-seed, and fight they did.
The Bears won Friday and looked to take the series Saturday
In the bottom of the second, Pierce Johnson strikes out Ryan Walterhouse.
Kevin Medrano helped Johnson out with a great play at second in the third, and in the fourth Johnson got Lucas Hileman looking with a man in scoring position.
In the fifth, Johnson fields a comebacker and starts the 1-6-3 double play.
It was scoreless until Keenen Maddox hit his second homer in as many days in the sixth, a two-run shot that made it 2-0 Bears.
Brent Siefert drove home a run in the next inning and the Bears took the game 5-0.
