College Construction Fund Advances

(Jefferson City, MO)--Missouri lawmakers are moving along a bill that sets up a new way to help pay for construction on college campuses.
Senator Tim Green (St. Louis) wants to create the Higher Education Capital Fund, Senate Bill 655, which would match local donations to colleges and universities.
The state money would account for no more than half the project costs.
And the funds could not be used for athletic facilities.
The money would be available to both four-year and two year public colleges.
