Fire Damages Restaurant, Employees Get Out Safely

(Osage Beach, MO) -- A handful of employees escaped Dorsey's Pit Stop restaurant in Osage Beach, Missouri Sunday before a fire caused thousands of dollars in damage.

According to Osage Beach Fire Protection District Deputy Fire Chief Terry Paul, firefighters were able to keep the fire in the bar, kitchen and storage areas. Still, Paul says, in a press release, that the damage estimate is $350,000.

The Osage Beach Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

About 8 employees were in the building when flames broke out. They all made it out safely.

Crews got a report of the fire at 5682 Alona Point at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Firefighters controlled the flames in about 1.5 hours. However, it took 4 hours to get it completely out.

Osage Beach Fire Protection District, Lake Ozark Fire Protection District, Osage Beach Police, Mid-County Fire Protection District, Camdenton Fire Department, Osage Beach Ambulance and Ameren UE helped with the response to the fire.
