(Branson, MO) -- It's a game show that's been on TV for more than 40 years and a live version is coming to the music city.
The Price is Rght Live is debuting this summer at the Welk Resort Branson. Its the on-stage, audience-interactive version of the longest running show in TV history and you could have a chance at winning the showcase.
"It's a very high energy, exciting live audience," says Dathan Atchison, General Manager of Welk Resort Branson.
Participants will have the chance of winning thousands of dollars in cash and prizes including cars, vacations, appliances and jewelry. The live show will have the Price is Right's most popular games like the Big Wheel, Cliffhangers, Plinko and the Showcase.
Branson hotel vouchers, restaurant gift cards and show tickets will also be included in the prizes.
The Price is Right live follows virtually the same format as the TV show. All audience members can pre-register to participate and are then called to "come on down" However in the live show, more than 50 audience members will have a chance to recieve prizes.
"We recreate the show. We have all the games and the prizes and the set and the music and the excitement just like the TV show in person," says Jeff Palmer of Freemantle Media.
Organizers say their excited for a new live show to kick off the summer season.
"There's something magical about the Price is Right," says Palmer. "When people see the show and the curtain opens you can see it in their eyes and I think Branson is a magical place where people come to be entertained and spend quality time together, so it's a good fit."
"Families are going to have just one more reason to come and spend time with us here in Branson," says Branson Mayor Raeanne Presley.
The Price is Right Live will start in July and continue through December. Show times are Monday through Saturday at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $29.95 for adults and children 17 and under are free.
