The Missouri Attorney General's office today filed a lawsuit in Greene County Circuit Court against Jayne E. Wilson and the Queen City Emporium. The state claims Wilson violated Missouri consumer protection laws. Queen City Emporium sold handmade things such as jewelry, clothing and art work, on a consignment basis for the sellers.
Attorney General Chris Koster claims Wilson didn't make payments to the consignors after the sale of their items, didn't return unsold merchandise to the sellers, and didn't send monthly statements to the consignors.
The state wants full restitution to those sellers, along with civil penalties and a permanent injunction against Wilson and the Emporium.
