BBQ Teams Gear Up for Rock'n Ribs

(Springfield, MO)--Dozens of barbecue teams competing, and you get to stuff yourself - it's almost time for this year's Rock n' Ribs competition.
The 13th Annual Rock'n Ribs Festival is this Saturday, April 21, in Springfield.
Vera Gibbons with the Rotary Clubs of Springfield, the sponsoring organization, appeared on KOLR10 and KOZL Tuesday morning to talk about the festival. She has all the details you'll need when you make plans to go this weekend.
Rock'n Ribs is not only a 'Kansas City BBQ Society' Sanctioned event drawing dozens of teams to compete, but also benefits 7 children's charities in southwest Missouri.

2012 Event Moves to a New Location!
WHAT: Rock 'n Ribs BBQ Festival 2012
WHERE: Community Blood Center Parking Lot at the corner of South Campbell and Plainview Road
WHEN: Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
DETAILS: This year's event promises to be the best ever! Advanced tickets may be purchased for $7 at HyVee, Kum N Go, Great Southern and Big Whiskeys, gate admission is $10. Over 60 teams will compete in this KCBS sanctioned BBQ contest. Local bands entertain and BBQ sampling begins at 1:00 p.m. Among the highlights this year:

Hot Air Balloons
Battle of the Bands
Rockin Zoomba sponsored by the Springfield Family Y
Texas Holdem Tournament
Army National Guard inflatable games
Doughnut and pie eating contests
