Pulaski County prosecutors charge Joseph W. Fairchild, age 48, of Waynesville, with burglary and stealing.
Sheriff J.B. King says Fairchild was spotted standing at the rear door of the home that was broken into, a day before several pieces of jewelry were reported missing from a bedroom.
Deputies started checking area jewelry stores a few days later, and found several of the stolen gems. The homeowner identified the pieces. Investigators say the neighbor, seen at the back door, allegedly sold the jewelry to the store.
Prosecutors filed the burglary and stealing charges against Fairchild Friday. He is being held in the Pulaski County Jail.
