Dole Recalls Bagged Salad for Possible Salmonella

Dole is recalling some of its bagged salads because they may be tainted with Salmonella.
The recall is for 756 cases of the company's Seven Lettuces salad with a use-by date of April 11th.
The Seven Lettuces salad subject to recall is marked with a use-by date of April 11, 2012 and Product Codes 0577N089112A or 0577N089112B, both of which can be found in the upper right corner of the package. It is also identified by the UPC code 71430 01057, located on the back of the package below the bar code.
The product was distributed in 15 states, including Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin.
The company says so far no illnesses have been reported.
Symptoms of Salmonella include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, fever, nausea and vomiting, and generally appear 6 to 72 hours after ingesting the contaminated food.
Dole advises anyone who has bought the recalled product to discard it. Retailers and consumers with questions may call the company's Consumer Response Center at 800-356-3111 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (PDT) Monday through Friday.
