There was a lot of air traffic in Springfield this afternoon in the form of dozens of kites.
About 100 people came out for today's annual Cherry Blossom Kite Festival.
Organizers tell us this event ties into the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden at Nathaniel Greene Park.
They picked the Kite Festival because it's also a traditional Japanese sport.

If you'd like to head out to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom, park officials say those will be in peak bloom for the next week or so.
