Three area high school basketball teams were looking for a state championship Friday in Columbia.
And two of those three teams will return to the Ozarks with the state title in hand.
Congratulations to the Walnut Grove girls. They beat Leeton in the class one title game, 41-22, led by Abby Creed's 11 points. They end the year 26-3 and state champions.
Also congrats to the Hartville girls. They won their first-ever class-two championship, beating Westran 49-48. Brittany Percival led the 27-5 Eagles with 19 points.
However, in the class two boys title game, Mansfield fell to Eskridge, 64-54, despite Marcus Sherman's game-high 21 points.
In the third place games, Osceola falls to Harrisburg and Wheatland falls to LaPlata by two.
The Osceola girls fall to Clopton in the class two third-place game, 72-63.
