Springfield entrepreneur Todd Parnell has been selected to head Drury's new Edward Jones Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Parnell was president of three Missouri banks, and served as chairman of the Springfield-area Chamber of Commerce.
Parnell says he hopes the Center will expand the number of undergraduates at Drury by offering an entrepreneurship minor.
Educators are also developing a certification course that qualifies students for greater investment opportunities.
" We believe we can help people start businesses. We believe we can do that through the education process which will help them sustain it once they get it done. We believe we can do that by assisting them in capital formation."
Parnell officially assumes his position on June 1.
