Nixa slips past Willard in boys basketball

Boys high school basketball Wednesday night, 18-6 Willard hosting 14-8 Nixa.

And the Eagles open things up by going to Travis Hicks, the 6-4 senior hits the jumper and Nixa was rolling.

Willard would take the lead when Alex Henderson, on the run, stops and pops from the free throw line, it's 8-7 Tigers.

Then Henderson's defense would pay off, he strips the ball loose, steals it, the shot is long, but teammate Jonathan Stokes is there for the board and basket.

But Nixa would stay strong, the inbounds pass to Chris Hastings who drops in the 15 foot leaner and Nixa slips past Willard 53-52.
