(Los Angeles, CA) --  Mel Gibson's legal fate is now in the hands of the District Attorney's Office.

After several months of investigation into allegations of abuse and extortion, Los Angeles County Sheriffs have finally turned over their findings to prosecutors who will now decide whether to move forward with the case.

According to the "Los Angeles Times," millions of dollars are also at stake as Gibson and his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, battle over custody of their infant daughter.

The "Times" published e-mails, text messages and information from legal papers related to their nasty breakup that played out heavily in the media last year.

Oksana claimed Mel punched her and knocked out her teeth during an argument at their home.

Mel claims Oksana tried to blackmail him by secretly taping a phone call between the two.

According to the "Times," the evidence from the legal documents indicate that the two were still texting and calling  each other, even as their attorneys brokered their breakup, said to be valued at 20-million-dollars.
