Evangel Splits Games With Missouri Valley

The Evangel Crusaders were back at home Monday night as they work into Heart of America conference play. Steve Jenkins Crusaders limping into the game with Missouri Valley losers of five of their last seven games. Still Evangel has beaten the Vikings the last seven times these two have hooked up.
Evangel starting inside, Tim Dial in jail on the block, but works his way under the basket for the reverse layup.
Missouri Valley answers with the long ball, Dustin Berens pulls up and swishes the three, it's a two point game.
Evangel's Shane Nicholson had a big first half, Nicholson with the spin move and stops and pops from 12 feet it's 10-5 Crusaders.
Missouri Valley with nice ball movement, swinging it to the open man and Jeremy Massingale makes it a one point game. Evangel trying to pull away, Dial dumps it down the lane to Chad Simon who takes it strong to the rack, Crusaders by six. Then it's Nicholson again, puts the ball on the deck, drives to the elbow and hits another jumper.
But Missouri Valley hits a three with nine seconds left to steal a 70-67 victory.
And on the womens side the Lady Crusaders pulled out a 72-63 win.
