Some area high school students did more than just watch movies today.
The teenagers spent part of their saturday in a classroom to gain insight into the film
making process.
It's all part of a six-week course designed to teach area teens about what goes into
making movies and documentaries.
This is the first year the Missouri Film Alliance has put together a seminar like this in Springfield, and organizers
say they felt it was important to provide an in-depth look into the business.
Local film makers and teachers will also mentor the students on shooting and post-productions.
The students can then enter a film competition after the seminar.
