Hello, I'm Nick Carboni. I am the weekend sports anchor at KOLR and KOZL. I also anchor sports on Ozarks Local on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
I was born and raised in New England, but have enjoyed the Midwest since moving to Springfield in September 2010.
Since joining the team here at KOLR/KOZL, I've had the opportunity to cover great local athletic events in Springfield, along with Games 6 and 7 of the 2011 World Series at Busch Stadium.
I anchor KOZL's all-local, 30-minute sports show Ozarks Saturday/Sunday. You can also find me anchoring sportscasts Wednesday through Sunday nights.
I've been amazed by the passion for local sports in Southwest Missouri.
My own passion for sports started at a young age, when I'd wake up every morning, and immediately find the nearest sports page.
I played many sports growing up, and participated in baseball and track in high school.
I was lucky enough to spend 2007-2009 as a sports writer for my home-state paper, The Hartford Courant in Connecticut.
If you see me at a game, don't hesitate to stop by and talk sports. It's what I love.
