(New York, NY)  --  With kids getting ready to rip through the packaging on new toys arriving for the holiday season, Congressman Anthony Weiner is looking to help.

He's introducing legislation to cut down on the amount of excessive packaging.

The measure would direct the federal Environmental Protection Agency to draft new guidelines for packing material.

Congressman Weiner points out the product with some of the most plastic and cardboard is energy efficient light bulbs.

The New York Representative says New Yorkers will produce about 15-thousand-tons of garage from product packaging in early December.
