Three Children Die in Fire

(Holts Summit, MO) -- Three children are dead in central Missouri after a fire traps them in their home
It happened overnight in Holt's Summit, Missouri north of Jefferson City.
Fire fighters say flames were fully engulfing the home when they arrived around 3:00 am.
One mother was able to get her toddler girl out. But another mother lost her three children, a 2-year-old girl, and two boys, 4 and 6-years-old.
Firefighters say the children were trying to get out, but were probably overcome by the smoke and carbon monoxide.
The fire began in the basement of the home. But the exact cause is still under investigation.
