Three Counties Declared Disaster Areas

(Little Rock, AR) -- Howard, Polk and Sevier counties have been declared disaster areas by Governor Mike Beebe in the wake of damage caused last week by tornadoes and severe weather.
Three were killed and more than 20 injured in Mena as high winds damaged buildings and homes. Shelters and mobile food stations were set up in Mena.
A total of eleven Arkansas counties were affected by the storms, and power was knocked out to about 1,000 Entergy Arkansas customers.
