(Little Rock, AR)  --  The Arkansas Legislature could give its stamp of approval to a statewide lottery within the next two weeks.

Two identical bills will begin making their way through the House and Senate early next week, first at the committee level and then before both legislative chambers.

The more than 100-page lottery plan has been changed somewhat, but nothing substantive enough to derail it.

Pay for the lottery director would max out at a half-million-dollars and language has been revised to better explain how revenues from the lottery will fund scholarships.
